In this last part of the report, we present maps displaying where the Fund did its business throughout the calendar year 2022. We count transactions and transactionless errands carried out for defendants and accuseds at courts, police stations, and other institutions. For comprehensiveness, we tally the number of persons assisted rather than actual transactions. For instance, if one money transfer is made to a court to post bail for five defendants, we count five. Or if five defendants are released by being placed under oath with no money transfers, but a representative of the Fund has traveled to the court by request in anticipation of posting bail, we also count five.
This count does not include bail returns, which we will delve into in the future.
See you again next year!
